Scary Sky

Tell me what you think of this cloud?

Let me tell you it was swirling real good.

And this is what our sky looks like every afternoon this past week.

I dislike storms.  I truly dislike lighting and wind.

I'll be in my basement.

Enjoyment

I was alone lastnight, my husband was on nights.  Usually I watch a movie that he would not pick for us to watch together.  He likes his mobster-shoot em up bad guy-sometimes comedies.  I like to watch thought provoking-full of awesome lines-non fluffy but yet about love movies.

Which is why "Dan In Real Life" is a favorite of mine.

It was not the most thought provoking movie but it was darn funny and the comments about love were oh so true!  I laughed, I wanted to cry {especially when Dan and his girls talk about missing Mom}, and laughed again.  It's comedy with class, not comedy that makes you laugh but then you feel guilty for laughing because it's just so wrong what the comedian is saying.

Here is the trailer.....

And some great quotes.....

Jane Burns: [about driving] If you don't let me, I'll never learn.

Dan Burns: But if I let you, you might not live.

(In this quote they were talking about Dan's wife who had passed on)
Marie: You don't have to smile.

Dan Burns: It's better than the alternative.

Marty Barasco: Love is not a feeling, Mr. Burns. It's an ability

And the movie ends with Dan writing his article with this.....
Dan Burns: Instead of telling our young people to plan ahead, we should tell them to plan to be surprised.

If you like movies such as "Juno", "Little Miss Sunshine" {a bit more crude humour in this one} or "Away We Go" you will love "Dan In Real Life".

Friday Yay Friday

After today we officially have one day left of school.  By Wednesday I'll be floating on a raft in a lake and sitting by the campfire at night.

I love summer.  The freedom from time restraints, more relaxed in every way.  So many things to do but yet time to just hang out if that is possible with a crazy 18 month old!

Besides climbing out of his playpen he has been found here....

and here.....

I truly believe I a may loose my sanity when he finally hits the 2's!

Getting back to summer and relaxing..... I do not know when I will ever feel my blood pressure return to normal  while my children are awake but I can dream right?  For now I'll take a boat ride, a little fishing and sometime on the beach.

edited**** After grabbing a cup of coffee I settled at the computer and found this little gem over at I Am Unique .... go visit with your coffee/tea in hand.

Happy Friday!

Laughter is like changing a baby's diaper.
It doesn't permanently solve any problems,
but it makes things more acceptable for awhile.

The First Boat Ride

We recently purchased a boat.

The weather and my husband's schedule finally got on the same page so we drove up to the lake.

This little boy was having the time of his life.

"Faster Daddy Faster"

And when he did get bored I gave him the empty bottle to discover the sounds it can make in the wind.

Here he is telling me all about it!

It was a wonderful day on the water not so great for fishing though.  We caught one and released it later.  The kids got a kick out of the live well on the boat.  They also enjoyed all the buttons to touch {we will have to work on that}!! I will leave you with a few more pictures.

As his Mother I'd like to know since when do we hunt with double revolvers but he said a rifle was too hard to draw.

Fast Forward

If your in need of a giggle go read my friend Shelia's post as she teaches her son to drive.

HILARIOUS

Where of Where Did Wednesday & Thursday Go?

Seriously was it not just Tuesday?  My husband was on days off he was out cutting the grass and I was getting a massage.

I have no idea what happened to the last couple days...oh oh oh wait...I remember.
Preschool field trip, all day excursion right there.  When we got home we ate and got back in the van for soccer.  Finally 8 p.m. at night I tuck everyone in and fall down exhausted myself.

Yesterday was a home day.  I could see myself baking brownies, cinnamon buns, making a delcious supper but then life happened.  I got a half hour run in the morning and my brownies made.  After that it was "MOM, I need you"  all day.

Off to my son's school playday today.  If it's not cancelled because of the rain.  I am working the canteen, should be interesting.
