You're Gonna Miss This

It was easy to realize what I am going to miss....

My baby is not going to be a baby next week.....

He is becoming a toddler and fast.

He is walking.....

He says "NO" but nothing else.

Oh and he eats pumpkins....

Seriously, this is a problem when you have 10 pumpkins in your living area!

I just can't believe how fast the year went.  It did not feel this fast with my other three, not even the twins.

I have always said I am one of those people that cherish the stage we are leaving but I do get so excited about the next step.

Now we enter walking, talking, and so many new developments.
This baby was a surprise but the moment he was laid in my arms I was in love....{and complete awe because I so thought he was a girl I was going to name Aimee!}

{pls don't judge how I look in this pic. Remember I have just had a c-section in which I waited 10 hours to have, this was after I got out of recovery...can we say
d-r-u-g-g-e-d!}

Wow!!

He is mine and if you asked me two years ago if I expected this I'd have laughed and said No Way!

But I can not imagine life without him.

I have enjoyed the baby stage but will miss his littleness {word?}.

Looking forward to more excitement, messes, dirt, and noise!

A Bump In The Road

I hit "new post" but have no idea what I am posting about.

I feel a little lazy about blogging, probably because everything else in my life is so ridiculous.  I promised myself I would never become the "too busy Mom" and guess what?  I broke that promise to me.

But things will be a little calmer today and of course the weekend will be spent around home.

But how did I let everything get so unbalanced?  It's easy enough I guess when you want the best for your family but also for yourself.

I will find that balance again and things will be tickity boo for awhile, that is until I fall off the wagon again.

Tackle It Tuesday

Tackle It Tuesday Meme

Remember this....

My tackle for a few weeks back that never did get finished.
Guess what....

To be honest I needed to get this bench painted before I went crazy with only four chairs at this table.  When the husband is home for meals it is difficult for all of us to fit.  We like to eat here because of the highchair in this room and the mess stays put and not in the dining room.

I love how it turned out.  I removed all the old paint {and I mean old, remember this bench is probably 40+ yrs old}, then painted it black.  Then I sanded it so it looked old again...silly I know but it matches the chairs now.

I am excited to show you the project I worked on Sunday night.  I had the hat knitted for awhile just needed the finishing touches.

FEATHERS!

I love how it turned out.  You can see this hat and get the pattern in Susan B. Anderson's book "Itty Bitty Hats".  Visit her blog here.

This is maybe the 8th project I have ever knitted...remember this...

Sad I know.

But after purchasing Susan's book I was on a roll and started with hats.  Dishcloths were just not my thing {ya think}.

I think I'm doing just fine with the hats.

This is what I'm working on right now.  It is for my new niece or nephew {that is if they ever decide to make an appearance in this world}

As you can see it's been a productive week.

What are you tackling today?
I would love to come visit.

Head on over to 5 minutes for Mom and get inspired.

Snow?

The sun finally came out today...it's 5 pm!  Do you think this sky says SNOW?

I think it says BEAUTIFUL.

And our pumpkins just might be orange for Halloween.

Have a great rest of your weekend.

If You Need Me

If you need me for anything this is where I'll be....

Me and the kiddos.

It's great when it's family time and Daddy is with us but these days he is working it's so hard with a 12 month old trying to crawl everywhere.

I'm Canadian...
I spent most of my life on a rink and played Ringette till I was 22 years old.  I love Hockey and being at the rink.  I just don't love it so much when I'm the one breaking the sweat chasing down my 12 month old as he crawls away every second.  And please do not suggest the stroller...it gives me chills thinking of how he is in it.

I am a Mother of four.

A set of twins to boot, I know how to keep children entertained but this monkey....

He is just a lot of work right now.

So if you need me...you know where to find me.

{this post is dedicated to my fellow Mommy of four... Carissa ...HUGS, we will make it through the season together...LOL}

You're Gonna Miss This

My twins are three years old.

They are boy and girl.

We have many many days of fun playing but lately they are fighting alot.  They are three on the verge of turning four.  I think the fighting has a lot to do with the fact that they are three.

But today they surprised me.

They were playing a game Sasha made up.

It's called "Sam pretend you love me lots and lots" .

If you have ever met Sam you know he obliged right away and tackled her in hugs.

Okay, this post is making me cry..not sure why.

Moving on past my tears.

First, he had to catch her.

Then he had to hug her like he has never hugged her before.

He does a good job of it.

I am truly going to miss this.

Even though three year olds are exhausting, especially when you have two of them, I do love these days.

I love their innocence and how easy they forgive each other.

One minute they are scratching each other's eyes out then they are hugging and wrestling.

Maybe I am so emotional because my last child, my baby, is turning one in a couple weeks.  Maybe it is the fact that we made that decision that we do not want any more children.  Maybe it is because we are done that part of our life.  Maybe it's the music on my blog.  Maybe it's because we are expecting another baby in our famly any minute and my Mom is not here to meet them, though I know she knows this little person already.

Okay, now am a puddle of tears and must pull myself together.

Thank you Pam {for making me cry} and helping me know I am going to miss these moments even though I'm tired and exhausted most of the time.

Head on over to Pam's blog and join in.
***edited after reading Pam's post.  Poor Pam is feeling quite emotional today too.  Go give her some love.

What Are We Up To Today?

I am attempting to get my family healthy, well at least portion of my family.  I say that because the oldest is at school and my husband is at a training session for work.  It is me and little ones at home.

I feel better than I did lastnight but whatever has a hold of me is ridiculous.  It's been over 2 weeks of just not feeling 100%, lots of coughing, sore throats that would make you think it's on fire and just overall fatigue and nausea.  I know the twins are just not up to par as well by their whines and overall mood swings.

Did I mention my husband finally went into the doctor and was diagnosed with Bronchitis?  Yeah....

So today we are staying home, resting as much as you possibly can with a 11 month old and 3 year old twins, airing out the house with some windows open, burning some essential oils and drinking and eating lots of food with vitamin C.

I know I really have not much to complain about, it could be much worse.

Have a wonderful Thursday.

p.s No new neice or nephew has arrived yet........waiting waiting waiting to spoil this baby rotten!

Tackle It Tuesday

Tackle It Tuesday Meme

Once again I did not "finish" the tackle I intended to post about it.

Life is crazy at the moment, maybe I should tackle that...get back to "easy" mode again.

I did start the intended tackle so here is a peek.

This is a very old bench that was my grandparents at one time.  I keep forgetting to ask my Grandma about how old it is.  The bench was not being utilized in my parents garage so I brought it home.  We really could use something like this at our kitchen table. I removed all the old paint, sanded it and am now painting it.

I wanted to finish it lastnight but something germ wise has a hold of me.  I'm not sick like "stay-in-bed" sick.  I am more like  a slug.  I just cannot find any pep and have a sore throat from time to time.  I have been going to bed as soon as the kids do and I could sleep in past their waking time too.

So my tackle this coming week will be to finish the bench as well as get over this bug.

What are tackling today?

Head on over to 5 minutes for Mom and get inspired.

How Do They Do It?

How do some parents do the every-kid-in-an-acitivity-thing?

I have my oldest son (6 yrs) in hockey and I find it really difficult with just this going on.

The twins (3 yrs) are in gymnastics but it is during the day so I do not find hauling the baby there an issue.

But....how do parents do the every-kid-in-an-acitivity-thing?

And some parents work full time as well.

Seriously, how do they do it without losing their minds?

Maybe it's just because I have a non-walking, very heavy to carry 11 month old.  Try dressing one child in their hockey equipment and still keep an eye on the baby and twins...NOT FUN

But...once he gets out on the ice and off he goes...my heart melts in the cuteness of it all.  This year is a bit more competitive as well.  No more Dads on the ice...real Ref's and goalies that wear equipment, very exciting when your six or the Mother of that six year old.

For those Mom's out there that have more than one child in activites and you have young children to boot and possibly you work outside the home as well.  YOUR MY HERO!!!!  Seriously...you are.

Tackle It Tuesday

Tackle It Tuesday Meme

To be honest I was not going to join in this weeks tackle because I did not finish the intended tackle.  I'm coughing every 10 seconds and am sure my lungs are giving out on me.  My head feels like it's going to burst and so I was going to take this Tuesday off and book sick.

But, then I remembered I had got a tackle done.  I finally got to some scrapbooking.  With four children and a busy household it's hard to find time to be creative, but a couple girlfriends came over and we worked at our individual projects.

This one is my favorite, the orange tabs say "brother, brother and of course sister".

What are you tackling? I'd love to come visit.

Go and visit 5 minutes for Mom and get inspired.
