Tackle It Tuesday

I have a double tackle today.

First I finally finished knitting this hat for Gage.

It needs a topper but I have NO idea how to make a tassel.  I shall learn though.

And we picked our pumpkins tonight.  All 20 of them.

{I knitted Sasha's hat in this picture last year}

I also got my annual pumpkin picking picture {say that fast three times}

It's supposed to freeze sometimes this week so it was time to get these guys in the garage under a tarp.

What did you tackle?  I'd love to come visit.

Head on over to 5 minutes for Mom and get inspired.

You're Gonna Miss This

It's Pam's ONE year Blogoversary for her carnival

Head on over and check out what it's all about.

Myself, I am going to miss all the dress up days at my house...oh wait...that's everyday!

My kids looooovvvveeee to dress up and the oldest takes it very seriously.

Here he is a member of a S.W.A.T team.

The second oldest and only girl loves to be a Princess.

The problem is her twin brother wants to do the same.

And really I do not mind but when you are shopping for Halloween costumes and he reeeaaalllyyy wants to be a princess and is picking out all those costumes and the other parents are looking at you very strangely....it can be a problem.

Can I just add that after the dress is put on and he announces how beautiful he is, he will immediately start to wrestle with big brother, the dog or whoever is minding their own business at the time..because that is what Sam does..he disrupts your peace and quiet because it doesn't exist for him.

We would much rather see him in something like this.....{which he wore all day, everywhere we went this past week}.

And then we dress up the baby just to take pics and laugh.

I'm sure he will love that we did this to him someday!

{I apologize for the nasty onesie..it was after breakfast.}

So now that you have witnessed how strange my family is {oh but I do love them all}, head on over to Pam's and help her celebrate her one year blogoversary for her carnival.

The View From My Front Porch

Oh the blessings.....

A beautiful,  Baby Boy......

A curious Baby Boy.....

Soon, baby soon, you'll be joining them on adventures....

The shirt says it all......

Very proud I kept this shrub alive since it was a gift and all...

Thousands, and I mean thousands of snow geese....beautiful and exciting to witness for hours......

Sunflowers...how can you not smile?

The pumpkin patch.....

The largest pumpkins I have ever grown.....

Still waiting on the corn though....

And that my friends is what you will see if you came over and enjoyed a cup of coffee with me on my front porch.  Hope you felt like you were really here.

Someone Made Me Cry

They told me they have never met someone that has so much passion as a mother.

They told me they think I have no idea how great of a mother I am.

I cried.

They don't understand what they just did for me.

I Don't Get It.

I picked up the kids at school like I do every Wednesday.

I had a quick "word" with someone and they said something back that stung.

That has happened to me twice this week.  Either I am the target or I am just way too sensitive this week.

And it's funny, I had a conversation with a friend about "hurtful" comments from people...the conversation happened this week.

I don't get it.

Is it hard to be nice?  Is it not something we preach to our children on a daily basis?..."If you have nothing nice to say don't say anything at all?"

Today I did not say anything in return, just took my lumps and got angry later..I do that often.

Strange week, and it's not over yet.

Tackle It Tuesday

Tackle It Tuesday Meme

I too am posting of my husband's tackle.

We have a shed where we keep off season toys, bikes, gardening items, and of course hunting "supplies'.

My husband was once an avid goose hunter, I think he still would be if there was more hours in a day.

I came home to see this......

A goose masacre in my yard.

BUT...the kids were having a blast.

Uhoh we all know where this is heading....

Poor kitty.

My husband did accomplish the task and now the shed is mouse free and the geese are organized.

What are you tackling today?

I'd love to come visit and read all about it.

Head on over to 5 minutes for Mom and get inspired.

I need to VENT

I just want to say going through Teething with a baby SUCKS!!

Not the best word for it but it's true.

I needed to vent, and there it is.

I need to take some deep breaths and get back at parenting.

How did I ever survive through the twins teething I will NEVER know.

oh and p.s. flies suck too.

Shout Out Sunday

I love to watch fashion shows but not the type of fashion that I'll never wear.  So America's Top Model and shows like that are just not my thing.  BUT, I do love shows that feature "ordinary" people with "ordinary" lives.

Today I was exhausted and needed 5 minutes away from the kids.  I put the baby in his crib for a nap and went in my room to watch a bit of T.V. that did not include any sort of cartoons.

I was pleasantly surprised when I began watching Tim Gunn's Guide To Style.  I have to say I've heard his name but had NO idea who he was or what he was like.

I like.

He is sincere and genuine and was working very hard on this "ordinary" person to pull out some emotion in them.

I throughly enjoyed this show and even got some fashion tips that did not seem over the top for my big town/little city where I live.

So check it out and let me know what you think.

You're Gonna Miss This

The weekend is here, another busy week has passed us by.

With kids there are so many moments that can just make us stop in our tracks and think "Man, someday I'm going to miss this."  and that my friends is what Pam's bloggy carnival is all about.

This week it was a moment with Sammy.

Sammy:  "Mommy, me want more juice."

Me: "What is the magic word?"

{pause for a moment to think about it...}

Sammy: "Ummm.... Abracadabra!"

Me:  Deep breath and a huge sigh.

Head on over to Pam's place and go see what other's are missing.

Me Bad

If I am a follower of your blog I truly apologize for my tardiness on reading/commenting on your recent posts.

My LIFE is crazy but fun filled right now.

Lots of good things are happening and I truly do not feel bad that I am not "on" the computer so much.

Tomorrow is a stay at a home day with the 3 little people.  The big boy is going on a hunting excursion with his father.  Hopefully they bring home an Elk or Deer because our freezer is EMPTY!

So today is our Mom's Morning Out Used Toy and Clothing Sale.  It is AMAZING how much stuff goes through the building, and of course the shoppers.  If I can get permmission I would like to post some pictures of the before and after.  You will be amazed at the amount of work the volunteers and Mom's from our group put into this sale.

And that is where you will find me today.  Working my butt off for the head honcho {she's a tough one but we love her anyway}.

Off I go to work then for some beverages and NACHOS of course, right Kim?

Have a fun filled Friday too and I will get caught up on blogs tomorrow.

p.s. Did I mention all of this is kid free time???......Daddy's are the best for hanging out with the kidlets on his day's off.

My Time Out

No I did not do anything so bad that I had to put myself in time out.  This is a good time out like the kind Mommy needs once in awhile so she does not go stir crazy with the constant demands set upon her by taking care of her family.

This is the first time I have participated in Time Out Thursday but I tell you it's gonna stick.  I think about it all week and then by Thursday I have nothing to post about because I did not intentionally take 1 hour to myself.

But today is different.

And you may think I'm crazy.

Or you might just give me a pat on the back.

I am going to work today!!!!

What?

Yes.

A job.

And I am so excited it is ridiculous.

Let me explain.

As many of you might know my husband changed careers at the start of the year.  And yes we are happier than you can ever imagine BUT the pay is not something to make you smile.  I want to help contribute to the family in a financial way until he can start getting some overtime {and no don't think I am mean that I am waiting for my husband to work OT...he LOVES his new job and wants to work it}.

I heard of some people that started to clean houses.    I made some phone calls, talked to a fellow SAHM that was doing this type of work and she loved it.

It's funny because at one time I had someone clean my house and help me out with the twins when they were newborns.  I also had a three year old and just could not keep up with it all on the amount of sleep I was getting.  My husband was never home due to his part in a business so we hired some help and it was the best thing I ever did.  But it was hard to accept it...my pride tends to get in he way a bit.  I remember cleaning before she got here to help..silly me.

I put it out there to a friend who was thinking of getting someone to come in and clean.  She put it out there to someone else and boom I got a phone call, then I got another.  It is the perfect job for now and I am excited for some alone time, my ipod and a tub to scrub.  I think it's a good workout too..burn some calories etc.  I could do lunges as I vacumn!
So there you have it.  My time out today is my job and I can't wait to see how it goes.

If you want to join up with Time Out Thursday, head on over to Theta Mom's place and sign up.
