Yes or No

The flu {and you know which one I mean but I refuse to post the acutal name} has now hit our city.  Call me naive or just stupid but I seriously never thought we'd get hit.  You never think it's going to happen in you home area.

Yeah right.

I honestly had no idea whether I would immunize my children or not.  It is recommend for any first responders to get the vaccine so my husband is getting it..and he also just got over Bronchitis.

But what to do about the kids.

We have never had a flu shot in this house.

When the kids get sick it usually last 12 hours and they are over it.

They went over 2 years without any illness needing medical interevention or drugs.

But this highly contagious flu...it scares me a little.

Why?

My infant has had pneumonia at 2 months of age and he recently was on a puffer for some lung related issues.

If I am going to immunize him then why would I leave the others susceptible to this yucky flu?

Children under five were able to get the vaccine today and with little to no lineup I made the decision and had the kids done..with the exception of our 7 year old.  He will be done after the high risk people.

Do I regret it..no, I think I made the right decision.

As one fellow Mom said, if they did get sick, at least she did all she could have done to protect her children.

I went with my gut and was very proud of 2 three year olds that never shed a tear.

The baby on the other hand....ummm...he was a little mad.
