I remember what I was doing, getting ready for work, it was only 7:00 am here. I was surfing on the internet but had the t.v. on not sure why it was on an American television station but it was. My husband happened to be home that morning..he usually was gone by this time. He came down the stairs looked at the t.v. and said what happened?
He went closer to look and turn up the volume. He seemed quite concerned that a building was on fire. Then they showed the replay.
And even though I honestly had NO idea what the twin towers were or where they were located I knew this could not be good because we sat and watched the second plane hit.
So for those of you that felt the panic in NYC...guess what, we felt it here in the Canadian Prairies. Not as intense but the day changed and everyone was confused as to what was happening.
Luckily I worked for my family so my mother in law brought a television to the office and I watched that little box all day. I checked the internet for updates and I remember sitting there watching those towers fall. And then I cried.
To this day I still cannot watch any movie titled 9-11. Why would you want to relive it?
To me it's just too horrible to think.
Today take time to remember those that lost their lives, their loved ones and for the brave Firemen and Police Officers that are no longer with us because they were "just" doing their job.
